Fixes

We've recently tweaked/clarified the first point on page one (1) of the of the finishing instructions enclosed in your chartpak. We all do finishing and interpret instructions differently, and we thought this might be helpful:

On backside of design, measure ½” out from stitching, using a soft lead pencil, draw a line on the linen following the grain lines of the linen on all 4 sides.

After completing the lines on the backside, apply fusible sheerweight interfacing to both pieces (back of stitched design & back of velveteen). When applying interfacing, cut piece 2” longer/wider than the pencil measurement and apply so the interfacing overlaps that pencil line by about 1 inch on all 4 sides – use a pressing cloth to protect your iron faceplate.

Press well from the wrong side, turning the seam allowance to the back side exactly on the pencil line previously drawn, trim seam allowance to approximately ½”, miter the four corners, tack down the miters and put aside for now.

Lions, Tigers & Trims

This pretty trim roll is the result of a collaboration with Lois Mourisksi Bear of Lady Dot Creates and me - and we had a grand time.

Lois hand dyes quite an array of trims in lovely colors, and both trim rolls shown here highlight that in a couple of different ways. Plus, in addition to two alternate designs for the outside of the roll: the Polar Ice color project uses the title’s lion, tiger and bear - and the cocoa brown has an alphabet. You also get four little 'outtakes' to use for pockets and pin cushions. The design is charted for two tonal colors, and can also be stitched in one color only.

Notes for supplies listed here are for the models as shown. Plus - notes on Pom Trim Tape Removal from Lady Dot Creates!
