Joyful Fields
These striking tree motifs are featured on a 1796 sampler of the Ten Commandments, and I’ve ‘transplanted’ them into a delightful little woodland tableau.
The larger sampler is closer to the antique featuring verses from Psalm 96 incorporated into the design: Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice.
The smaller model is a great ‘outtake’ for a smaller sampler, stitched on a soft gray-green linen – both options are lovely!
