Snow Days Roundabout
Punchneedle Model: This roundabout design for winter is great fun to punch - perhaps not for the early beginner, but anyone with a bit of experience will enjoy this design. The design finishes to about 8'' in diameter - I used a nice 10'' no-slip Morgan hoop. I used size 8 perle cottons, Caron Wildflowers, some Kreinik braid and some metallic/pearlescent braids in a 3-strand needle for the background areas. Lots of floss colors from DMC plus some from Gentle Art and Weeks in a 1-strand needle did most of the individual motifs and settings. Colorful seed beads are sewn on after punching for accents in the large Christmas tree and wreaths. We mounted this design on a pillow made from printed cotton flannel and trimmed with 2 different fringes - one is a traditional ball fringe and the other is a fluffy rayon fringe. It just completes that wintry look of fun times in the snow! The chartpak include an iron-on transfer which you can use multiple times. |
