Scared Squared
What fun is this - bright and vibrant whimsy for Halloween! This is a bit of departure in style for me, but was ever so much fun to work on. The intersecting borders include cross stitches over two threads of gauze mesh for added texture, and there are bits of tiny straight stitches and lazy daisies for detail.
Don’t be afraid of the dark background colors – when stitching on silk gauze it’s a breeze to get this dramatic color contrast. In fact, it’s much easier to fill in the dark backgrounds on the silk gauze than it is to stitch the design on black linen or evenweave!
