Red, White & Blue
Inspiration for the pillow model comes from the Tattersall Graziano linen! Each of the words "red," "white," and "blue" is charted to fit into a pane of linen created by the weaving of the creamy threads in the natural raw background. Worked in overdyed floss and accented with some specialty stitches and clay buttons this one works up quickly finishing at about 10"w x 3"h.
The framed model is stitched in a combination of overdyed perle cotton and floss on 18ct linen. The perle cotton is used for stitching over 2 threads of linen and the floss for some one-over-one work across the bottom. The design is easily adapted to using floss for all stitching, but I really like the contrast in texture you get with the combination. A simple star button is all you need to finish this one its just over 5" square completed.
