Quiet Forest
A simple trio of trees that is so fun and easy to punch - and we're showing it 3 different ways!
The larger model is punched directly onto some gorgeous hand dyed Chestnut wool from Weeks Dye Works using a 6-strand punchneedle. For those of you who like the texture of primitive rugs, this large scale version is for you. If you don't have the brown wool, just punch the background with your choice of dark brown threads before you start on the trees. Punched area is about 6" x 4" and our model is accented with a brass squirrel charm and finished into a simple knife-edge pillow.
The same color palette is repeated in a more miniature version in the little framed model. This one is punched on a hand dyed weaver's cloth (we used "Green Slate" from Lakeside Linens) with a combination of 1- and 3-strand punchneedles and adds the background and a more decorative border treatment.
For a real “Christmas-y” look, we punched the same design in brilliant reds and greens with a bit of gold metallic for accent - can you believe it's the same basic design as the little framed model? This one is trimmed up with some little red buttons all along the lower tab border. Finishes to about 4" x 3."
The squirrel charm and red buttons are available as an embellishment pack from your needlework retailer.
The chartpak include an iron-on transfer which you can use multiple times.
