My Shade
I'm a member of my local church choir, and one Sunday we were singing from Psalms 121. The idea of God being my “shade” struck me immediately, and right away I made a mental note to develop a design based on portions of this passage. It's also a bit of a tribute to my Dad who loves trees and will be happy to tell anyone who will listen everything he knows about them.
The sampler is packaged in a chartpak with large charts and loads of stitch diagrams and instructions. There are several easy specialty stitches adding lots of texture. Twenty-three colors of floss (mostly from Weeks and Gentle Art) are used to stitch this design so there are lovely subtle variances in the color palette. Stitch count is 132 x 226 high.
