Here Comes the Sun
Here’s something loaded with fun color—you can’t help but smile! Bright shades of Weeks Dye Works floss and Caron Collection Wildflowers™ thread add lots of pizzazz to this design! (Suggested DMC alternatives are also provided.) It’s stitched on 28ct pale blue linen—all in cross stitches so it’s easily converted to your favorite fabric. The finished stitching is mounted onto a pillow top embellished with bright grosgrain ribbon; the edges of the linen were just folded back and the entire piece attached with the blue buttons. The finishing touch to this eye-catching pillow is the fun bead and button fringe around the edges—check at your local fabric store for the really fun fringes and trims that are so trendy right now. SYMBOL NOTE: in choosing symbols for this design that allow enough contrast between symbols for overall clarity, the symbol used to fill in the face of the yellow sun may not show up as well due to the printing process. If you are having trouble seeing this particular symbol, just stitch the facial features of the sun first, then the sun’s rays – after that all you have to do is fill in the entire area of the face with the Saffron color. The bottom edge of the face area will also line up with the bottom edge of the sun’s rays. |
