I ran across this prayer by an unknown author back in 2002 when soldiers from the Clarksville community were deployed to Iraq for the first time. I was out shopping and noticed a stack of these sitting on a counter for the taking and decided to keep and use it in a design someday-so here it is!

The design itself is very simple, in just 2 colors on a neutral off-white hand dyed linen. Our model is worked on 40ct, but will easily adapt to your favorite fabric. There is a combination cross stitched worked into the blue field of the stylized flag for some added texture, but you can also stitch standard cross stitches if you prefer.

Add some names or initials to personalize it for your family-or change the text slightly to be a “mother's” prayer instead.
