If you enjoyed punching my "Spring Roundabout" design from the Punchneedle for Spring leaflet – you will love this one!

This model is punched on khaki colored weavers cloth with a 3-strand punchneedle (I used a 6-strand needle for one little part of the design, but that’s optional if you don’t have that size needle.) Because of its larger size -– 7" in diameter -- you will do best with a large hoop. I used a 10" diameter Morgan lap stand. But don’t worry, even though it’s an impressive size, it still works up quickly – that’s one of the best things about this needleart for many of us!

What made this one so much fun to punch is the great variety of texture and color throughout. The background is punched with Caron Wildflowers thread, the squirrel uses some Alpaca and Wisper from Rainbow Gallery, and there’s a bit of black metallic in the crow – plus lots of wonderful fall colors from Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works!

This model is finished as a small mat by backing it with some gorgeous "Eggplant" wool from Weeks Dye Works.

Chartpak includes an iron-on transfer that you can use multiple times – even if you want to punch individual motifs from the overall design!
